Maus Die Game

Maus Die is one of those Game Boy games that looks simple until you actually play it. You control this little mouse (or maybe it's a rat? Honestly, the pixels are so chunky it's hard to tell) through these maze-like levels full of traps and enemies that seem to come out of nowhere. At first I thought it was just another Pac-Man clone, but there's something weirdly satisfying about figuring out the timing to dodge those spinning blades.
The controls take a minute to get used to—your character slides a bit after stopping, which got me killed more times than I'd like to admit. But once it clicks, you start noticing little shortcuts and patterns in the levels. Some stages feel impossible until you realize there's a sneaky path hidden behind a fake wall or something.
It's definitely got that old-school "throw your Game Boy across the room" difficulty, but in a way that makes you want to try just one more time. The music's this repetitive chiptune track that somehow never gets annoying. If you're into retro games that don't hold your hand, this one's worth digging up.
