M.U.L.E. on the NES is this weirdly addictive little strategy game where you land on a planet called Irata (which is just "Atari" backwards—nice touch) and try to out-hustle other players by buying, selling, and managing resources. You’ve got these little mule robots that do the heavy lifting, and half the fun is screwing over your friends by snatching up the last energy crystal or food plot they needed.
The controls are simple—arrows to move, Z/X for actions—but don’t let that fool you. There’s a surprising amount of depth here, especially when you realize timing your auctions right can make or break your colony. First time I played, I totally botched it by overpaying for ore and then starving because I forgot to buy food. Classic.
If you’re into old-school competitive strategy with a side of chaos, this one’s a blast. Just don’t expect your friendships to survive intact.
