Kung-Fu Heroes is one of those old-school NES beat 'em ups that feels simple at first—until you realize how chaotic it gets. You pick one of two martial artists (I always go for the guy in red, no idea why) and fight through waves of enemies in a temple. The controls are stiff by today's standards, but there's something satisfying about landing a well-timed jump kick.
You'll start off facing basic thugs, but before long, you're dodging knives, avoiding pits, and dealing with those annoying guys who roll at you like human bowling balls. The music is pure 8-bit hype, and the sound effects—especially the "HYAH!" when you punch—never get old. Just don't expect deep combos; this is more about quick reflexes and memorizing enemy patterns.
Keyboard controls are mapped pretty intuitively: Z and X for attacks, arrows to move. It's the kind of game where you'll die a lot at first, then suddenly everything clicks. Perfect for short bursts of nostalgia-fueled frustration.
