Okay, so King of Fighters 2000 on SNES is one of those fighting games that somehow makes the Super Nintendo sweat. You pick your three-character squad—I always go for Terry, Kyo, and Iori because, well, fire punches—and then it’s just non-stop combo madness. The sprites are chunky but full of personality, and the controls are tight enough that when you lose, it’s definitely your fault.
Team battles are where it shines. You can tag in reserves mid-fight, which leads to some wild comebacks if you time it right. The AI doesn’t mess around either—expect to get wrecked a few times before you figure out the rhythm. It’s not as flashy as the arcade version, but for an SNES port? It holds up way better than it has any right to.
If you’ve got a buddy to play against, even better. Nothing beats the chaos of two people mashing buttons while their last fighters are both one hit from death. Just don’t throw your controller when someone lands a desperation move out of nowhere.
