Janshirou Game

Janshirou on Game Boy is one of those weird little action games that feels like it got lost in time—in a good way. You start off with this tiny pixel warrior (I think he's a samurai?) slashing through waves of enemies that get surprisingly tough by level 3. The controls are simple—directional pad and two buttons—but the timing on jumps and attacks matters way more than you'd expect.
What stuck with me was the music—those crunchy Game Boy synths somehow make fighting floating eyeball monsters feel epic. And yeah, there are secrets—hidden power-ups tucked behind fake walls, the usual retro stuff. It’s not the deepest game, but it’s got that "just one more try" energy when you die to the same boss three times. If you’ve got a soft spot for janky 90s action games, this one’s a fun time capsule.
