Hyper Olympic (or "Track & Field" if you grew up outside Japan) is that gloriously brutal NES game where you destroy your controller trying to win pixelated gold medals. You'll start with the 100-meter dash—just mash buttons until your fingers cramp, but time it wrong and your little athlete faceplants. The long jump is worse: you've gotta hit the perfect rhythm on the run-up and nail the takeoff angle. Mess up either and you're eating sand.
Later events like javelin and hammer throw add weird timing minigames where you're basically playing Simon Says with Olympic equipment. The arcade version had this insane pressure—other players could literally shove you off the podium if you hesitated. NES version is solo, but still makes you feel like you just ran a marathon IRL.
Pro tip: Use a spoon to save your thumbs during button-mashing events. No joke, we all did it.
