Home Run Nighter '90 - The Pennant League (japan) Game

Home Run Nighter '90 is one of those classic NES baseball games that feels like it was made for late-night couch gaming. It's got that old-school Japanese league vibe—smaller pixel players, exaggerated home run swings, and a weirdly satisfying "thwack" when you connect with the ball. The fielding takes some getting used to (why do outfielders move like they're stuck in molasses?), but once you figure out the timing, it's oddly addictive.
First thing you'll notice? The batting camera zooms in way closer than most baseball games from that era, so you actually see the pitcher's windup in detail. Makes it way easier to time your hits compared to, say, RBI Baseball. And the pennant mode? Basically just a season with a trophy at the end, but back in '90, that was enough to keep me hitting dingers for hours.
Still holds up if you're into retro sports games—just don't expect modern mechanics.
