Gun-Nac is one of those NES shooters that feels like it wants you to win—in a good way. You pilot this little ship through waves of enemies, and powerups drop constantly. Like, you'll barely survive a tough section, and suddenly you're blasting everything with homing lasers or bouncing shots that clear the screen.
The controls are tight, and the weapon variety keeps things interesting—some upgrades feel overpowered at first, but the game throws enough chaos at you to keep it balanced. Also, the music has that classic NES charm, all bouncy and energetic. It's not as punishing as some shooters from that era, but don't let that fool you—later levels get wild.
If you like shmups but hate grinding for upgrades, this one's a gem.
