Gremlins 2 on NES is one of those weirdly tough platformers where you’re basically just trying not to die every five seconds. You play as Gizmo (yeah, the cute one), running through labs and vents, tossing little seeds that grow into helpful plants—some shoot, some bounce you up, and honestly, I still don’t always remember which does what. The gremlins are everywhere, and some of them turn into these ridiculous mutant forms if you don’t take them out fast enough.
The controls are simple—run, jump, throw—but the levels? Brutal. You’ll hit spikes, get swarmed, and probably yell at the screen when you miss a jump for the tenth time. And don’t even get me started on the bosses. That bat one? Nightmare fuel. Still, there’s something satisfying about finally reaching the control panel and wiping them all out. Just don’t expect it to happen on your first try.
Keyboard controls are mapped like an old NES pad: Z for A, X for B, and so on. It’s clunky by modern standards, but hey, that’s retro gaming for you.
