G.i. Joe - A Real American Hero - The Atlantis Factor Game
📅 1992 ✍️ Capcom

G.I. Joe: The Atlantis Factor on NES is one of those side-scrollers where you pick your Joe—Hawk, Snake Eyes, Duke, or a few others—and dive straight into Cobra’s ridiculous underwater fortress. It’s got that classic run-and-gun chaos: dodging laser turrets, jumping over pits, and getting swarmed by troops in those weird blue uniforms.
What’s cool is you can switch between Joes mid-mission, each with their own weapons and quirks. Need someone who can take a hit? Roadblock’s your guy. Prefer ninja nonsense? Snake Eyes slices through everything. And when you’re low on health, calling in backup actually feels clutch—they’ll drop ammo or even revive you instead of just vanishing like in most games.
It’s not the smoothest NES game out there, but the sheer variety of playstyles and the fact that Cobra’s base looks like a rejected Bond villain lair make it weirdly fun. Just watch out for those floating orbs—they’re way more annoying than they look.
