Famista '93 is one of those classic Japanese baseball games that never made it overseas, which is a shame because it's way more polished than most NES sports titles. You get full team management, crisp pixel-art players, and surprisingly deep pitching/batting mechanics for an 8-bit game.
First thing you'll notice is how snappy the controls feel—no sluggish animations here. The batting cursor actually responds when you move it, and pitchers have this satisfying wind-up motion. I spent way too long just trying different batting stances in the menu before even starting a game.
It's got that typical early '90s Japanese sports game charm, complete with exaggerated player reactions when they strike out or hit a homer. If you're into retro baseball games, this one holds up better than most. Just don't expect MLB licensing—these are all fictional teams with that classic Famista style.
