Double Dragon on NES is that classic side-scrolling brawler that basically invented the whole "walk right and punch dudes" genre before Street Fighter blew up. The controls are tight—no lag, no nonsense—which matters when you're getting jumped by guys in weird purple spandex or some random aerobics instructor who decided to throw hands.
What makes it fun is the chaos: you can grab pipes, whips, even rocks to smack enemies around. And yeah, throwing guys off ledges never gets old. It’s janky in that old-school way, but that’s part of the charm. If you’ve played the SEGA versions, this one’s a bit rougher around the edges, but it’s where the whole thing started.
Just don’t expect deep combos—this is pure, simple beat-em-up goodness.
