Doom on SNES is rough around the edges compared to the PC version, but man, it’s still Doom. You wake up on Phobos with nothing but a pistol and a bad attitude, and within minutes you’re knee-deep in pinkies and imps. The controls take some getting used to—no mouse look here—but once you adjust, blasting through those claustrophobic corridors feels just as tense as it should.
They had to cut some corners to make it run on the Super Nintendo (lower resolution, missing levels), but the core experience is intact. That moment when you first hear the shotgun cock and realize you might actually survive this? Pure adrenaline. Just don’t expect the framerate to do you any favors when things get chaotic.
