Devil Man on the NES is one of those weird, obscure Japanese action games that feels like it was designed after someone had too much coffee. You play as this demon dude who punches and kicks his way through levels that look like a fever dream—floating platforms, weird enemy designs, and a soundtrack that’s equal parts catchy and chaotic.
The controls are stiff in that classic NES way, so don’t expect smooth combos or fancy dodges. But there’s something oddly satisfying about landing a hit just right and watching enemies explode into little pixel chunks. The first stage throws you right into the madness—no tutorial, just jump in and figure it out. I died like five times before realizing some enemies take way more hits than others.
If you’re into retro games that don’t hold your hand, this one’s a trip. Just don’t blame me when you get stuck on that one jump in Stage 3.
