Deblock is this weird little NES puzzle game from Japan that feels like Tetris got drunk and started breaking its own rules. Instead of just stacking blocks from the top, you can drop them from any side of the playfield—left, right, even up from the bottom if you're feeling chaotic. At first it seems easier than Tetris, but then you realize the game's messing with you because the blocks don't always rotate how you expect.

The music has that classic 8-bit charm, and there's something oddly satisfying about watching a line disappear when you slide a block in from an unexpected angle. I kept getting tripped up when trying to rotate pieces mid-air—some of them flip in ways that make zero sense until you've played for a while. It's the kind of game where you'll mutter "wait, that worked?" after pulling off a dumb last-second save.

If you like Tetris but wish it would stop playing fair, this one's worth a few rounds.
