Circus Caper is one of those weird, charming NES games that feels like it was dreamed up by a kid hopped up on cotton candy. You play as this guy trying to rescue his sister from a creepy circus, and yeah, the plot's thin, but who cares when you're chucking juggling pins at clowns?
At first, you're pretty fragile—a couple hits and you're done. But you quickly find power-ups hidden around the tents that give you more health or weird weapons like balloon animals (because why not?). The levels are short, and honestly, half of them you can skip by just walking backward at the start. Not sure if that's a bug or a feature, but hey, faster boss fights.
The real fun is in the bizarre bonus stages. One minute you're dodging boulders in a tiny car, the next you're shooting at Rodan while Godzilla chills in the background like he's just here for the popcorn. It's janky, unpredictable, and totally worth a play if you're into old-school oddities. Just don't expect it to make much sense.
