Castle of Dragon looks decent for an NES game—smooth animations, detailed sprites—but man, does it get old fast. You basically just walk right, swing your sword at the same three enemy types, and hope you don’t fall off one of those rare, badly placed platforms (game over if you do, by the way). The music’s weirdly great though—way more energy than the actual gameplay. Feels like the composer was the only one who showed up to work that day.
If you’re nostalgic for generic 8-bit action, maybe give it a shot. Otherwise, there are way better ways to spend an afternoon.
