Bucky O'Hare is one of those weird little NES gems that slipped under the radar—probably because it came out so late in the console's life. It's got that same tight, precision platforming feel as Mega Man, but with way more personality. You play as this green space rabbit (yeah, really) leading a crew of animal rebels against an evil toad empire.
The first level throws you right into it—blasting weird alien bugs, dodging enemy fire, and figuring out how to switch between your crew members mid-stage. Each one has their own ability, like the four-armed monkey who clings to walls or the duck with a charge shot. Took me a few tries to stop faceplanting into pits, but once it clicks, the movement feels great.
Honestly, it's a shame more people haven't played this. The sprite work is fantastic for an NES game, and some of the boss fights are legitimately clever. Just don't expect it to go easy on you.
