Binary Land is one of those weird, charming NES puzzlers that sticks with you. You control two penguins at the same time—one moves with the D-pad, the other mirrors your inputs in reverse. The goal? Guide them both to their respective hearts on each stage while dodging spiders and weird floating eyeballs. Sounds simple, but coordinating their movements gets hilariously tricky fast.
The music’s got that classic Hudson Soft cheeriness, and the penguins waddle with this goofy determination. First time I played, I kept running Malon straight into enemies while focusing too hard on Gurin. You’ll either love the dual-control gimmick or throw your controller—no in-between. Still, there’s something oddly satisfying when you finally sync them up perfectly.
It’s short, sweet, and way more memorable than it has any right to be.
