About Baseball Simulator1000
Baseball Simulator 1000 came out for the NES in 1990, developed and published by Culture Brain. It was one of many baseball games on the system, but it stood apart by letting you play with or against teams that had special powers.
You control either a standard team or one of the special "Ultra" teams. Your main goal is to win baseball games, either in single exhibition matches or through a full season. The signature mechanics are the special Ultra pitches and Ultra hits; pitchers can throw balls that curve wildly or split into multiple pitches, while batters can swing for super-powered hits that send the ball flying. You can also create and edit your own custom players and teams, tweaking their stats and abilities. The game has a moderate pace, with the difficulty spiking sharply when you face the computer-controlled Ultra teams. It feels like a regular baseball game that suddenly turns into a super-powered showdown.
