Baseball Simulator 1000 is one of those NES sports games that actually gets weird with it. Yeah, you can play straight-up baseball if you want, but the real fun kicks in when you pick the "Ultra League" teams—these guys have wild special moves like fireball pitches and homerun swings that send the ball into orbit. First time I tried it, my pitcher launched a curveball that literally zigzagged mid-air. Ridiculous, but in the best way.
There’s a season mode if you’re into that, but honestly, I spent most of my time in the editor making a team of overpowered freaks. You can tweak stats, change uniforms, even rename players—which, let’s be real, is where half the fun is. Nothing like watching "Dave the Destroyer" knock a ball clean through the outfield fence.
It’s janky in that classic NES way, but the sheer creativity makes up for it.
