Baltron's one of those NES shooters that flew under the radar—probably because it never left Japan. At first glance, it feels like a stripped-down Defender clone where you're zipping left and right blasting aliens, but there's this weird charm to it. The controls are floaty, and the enemies swarm in these chaotic patterns that make you weave through bullets like you're threading a needle.
What's interesting is how the stages loop endlessly until you take out the mothership (good luck spotting it in all the visual noise). The power-ups are kinda cryptic—I spent way too long figuring out which one actually did something useful. And that soundtrack? Cheesy synth beats that somehow worm their way into your head after a few runs.
It's not the deepest shooter out there, but there's something oddly satisfying about mastering its janky movement. Just don't expect a fair fight.
