About Adventure Island
Adventure Island came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1986, developed by Hudson Soft. It was one of many platformers from that era, a straightforward game where you guide the caveman Higgins across a tropical island.
You control Higgins, running and jumping across eight worlds to rescue his girlfriend Tina. The main goal is to reach the end of each stage while avoiding enemies and obstacles. Key mechanics include collecting fruit to keep your vitality meter from depleting, and breaking open eggs to find weapons like a stone axe or a skateboard that increases your speed. The game is known for its demanding pace; your health constantly ticks down, and contact with most hazards means instant death.
