So, The Addams Family on NES—yeah, it’s one of those weirdly charming platformers where Gomez has to rescue his whole family from their own haunted mansion. The lawyer’s pulled some shady eviction stunt, and now you’re jumping through rooms full of cash bags (because of course the Addams would stash money in the walls) while dodging spikes and ghosts that pop out of nowhere.
At first, it feels like a standard side-scroller, but then you realize there’s this whole puzzle layer—some doors need keys, others need you to find Thing’s hand (which, honestly, is both creepy and hilarious). The controls are a little stiff, but once you get used to Gomez’s floaty jump, it’s weirdly satisfying to explore the mansion’s secret passages. And the music? Total earworm, in that classic NES way.
Just don’t expect it to hold your hand—some of those hidden items are tucked away in the most obscure spots. You’ll probably lose a few lives figuring out where Wednesday’s trapped.
