You get to play as three X-Men—Wolverine, Iceman, and Nightcrawler—each with their own moves and quirks. Slash through enemies with Wolverine’s claws, slide around on Iceman’s… well, ice, or teleport past obstacles as Nightcrawler. The levels are pretty straightforward beat-em-ups, but switching between characters keeps it interesting.
Wolverine’s healing factor makes him forgiving if you mess up, while Nightcrawler’s teleporting feels a little janky at first but gets fun once you get the hang of it. The pixel art’s decent for a GBA game, and the missions throw in just enough variety to keep you from button-mashing the whole time. It’s not the deepest X-Men game out there, but it’s a solid pick if you’re into the comics.
