Man, World Cup USA 94 on SNES takes me back. The second you boot it up, that chunky 16-bit crowd noise hits, and suddenly you're scrolling through teams with those gloriously pixelated flags. Brazil’s always overpowered, obviously, but good luck stopping Italy’s defense from bulldozing your striker.
The controls are simple—pass, shoot, sprint—but good luck stringing together a clean attack without some defender hip-checking your midfielder into next week. And the animations? Hilarious. Players celebrate goals by backflipping like they’ve just won the actual World Cup, even if it’s a friendly against Cameroon.
Play long enough and you’ll start recognizing the AI’s cheap tricks (that looping through-ball exploit still haunts me). But that’s part of the charm—it’s janky, loud, and weirdly addictive. Just don’t blame me when you spend an hour trying to recreate Baggio’s penalty miss in pixel form.
