Torpedo Range Game

Torpedo Range is one of those Game Boy games that somehow makes staring at a tiny sonar screen weirdly intense. You're basically a submarine captain trying to line up torpedo shots while dodging enemy fire—sounds simple, but the controls have that perfect old-school jank where you're constantly adjusting depth and angle just right.
The first time I played, I kept overshooting targets because I didn't realize how much the ocean currents mess with your shots. There's something satisfying about finally nailing a destroyer after three misses, watching it pixel-explode in slow motion. The sound effects are all crunchy bleeps and bloops, exactly what you'd want from a '90s handheld.
It's not flashy, but there's a rhythm to it—like a weird mix of Battleship and a rhythm game once you get the hang of torpedo travel time. I still mess up when multiple ships swarm me though. Classic Game Boy frustration in the best way.
