Tomato Adventure came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed by AlphaDream. It arrived when the GBA library was full of inventive Japanese role playing games, and this one definitely stood apart with its own particular style. You don't see many games that build their entire world around a vegetable themed rebellion.

You control a boy named DeMille, navigating a world divided into distinct screens and areas. Your main goal is to gather a group of allies and challenge the ruling Tomato Kingdom. The combat uses a timing based system where you press buttons in sequence to execute attacks and special moves. Outside of battle, you explore towns and the overworld, solving environmental puzzles to progress. The game has a steady, manageable pace, though some of the later boss encounters require precise input. Playing it feels like unfolding a strange, colorful storybook where every turn holds a new surprise.
