Swamp Thing on Game Boy is one of those weird little licensed games that somehow works. You play as the big green guy himself, punching and vine-whipping your way through Arcane's mutant goons across some surprisingly varied levels—one minute you're in a swamp (obviously), next thing you know you're smashing mummies in Egypt or slipping on ice in Antarctica. The controls take a second to get used to—Swamp Thing moves kinda heavy, like he should—but once you figure out the vine attack's range, it clicks.
It's got that classic 90s platformer jank where some jumps feel just a pixel too precise, but the sprites are chunky and expressive, and the music's got this grimy synth vibe that fits the character perfectly. Be prepared for some cheap hits from off-screen enemies, though. That final boss fight against Arcane? Way harder than it has any right to be.
