Super Tekkyuu Fight! is one of those SNES fighters that somehow flew under the radar back in the day, but man, it's got this weird charm to it. You pick from these slightly offbeat characters—like a baseball player who fights with his bat, or this ninja who keeps teleporting at the worst possible moments—and then it's just pure, chaotic 16-bit brawling.
The controls take a minute to click, especially if you're used to smoother fighters like Street Fighter II. But once you get the timing down for those exaggerated special moves (the fireball animations are ridiculous in the best way), it becomes this oddly satisfying button-masher with just enough strategy to keep you from spamming the same move over and over.
Graphically, it's bright and loud, with these chunky sprites that somehow make every punch feel heavier than it should. The music? Cheesy synth tracks that get stuck in your head for days. It's not the most balanced fighter out there, but there's something about its janky energy that makes it weirdly replayable. Definitely a hidden gem if you're into '90s fighting game weirdness.
