About Super Smash T.v.
Super Smash T.V. came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991, published by Acclaim Entertainment. It was part of that early wave of SNES games that took arcade concepts and adapted them for home play, offering a fast-paced, top-down shooter set inside a dystopian game show.
You control a contestant who must fight through a series of single-screen arenas. Your main goal is to survive each room, defeat all the enemies, and collect the prizes and cash they leave behind. The signature mechanics involve using the four face buttons on the SNES controller to shoot in eight directions, allowing you to fire while moving independently. You also hunt for weapon upgrades like spread shots and missiles, and face a unique boss at the end of each major section. The pacing is relentless, with enemies swarming from all sides, making the difficulty quite high. It feels like a frantic scramble for survival where every corner could be your last.
