Super Puyo Puyo on SNES is that weird, charming mix of falling blobs and RPG nonsense that somehow just works. You’re still matching colored Puyos like always, but now there’s this goofy story mode where characters actually level up—yeah, seriously. The first time I saw my little wizard dude gain XP after clearing a puzzle, I laughed, but then I got weirdly into grinding for better spells.
The AI’s brutal even early on, though. One wrong move and the opponent will bury you under a mountain of garbage Puyos before you can say "chain reaction." The colors pop like crazy on the SNES, and the music’s got that perfect early ‘90s synth energy. It’s the kind of game where you lose three rounds in a row, swear you’re done, and then immediately hit retry.
