Super Final Match Tennis is one of those SNES sports games that actually holds up. It's got that early '90s arcade feel—simple controls, bright colors, and matches that move fast enough to keep you hooked. You pick from a small roster of players (no real pros, just generic archetypes), and right away you notice how snappy the serves feel. Not as floaty as some other tennis games from that era.
What I like is how the court angles change depending on where you're standing—sounds basic now, but back then that little detail made rallies way more dynamic. The AI isn't brutal, but it'll punish lazy shots. Found myself actually using lobs and drop shots instead of just smashing everything. Music's cheery in that classic SNES way, all bouncy synths and punchy sound effects.
It's no Virtua Tennis, but for a quick match or two, it's way more fun than it has any right to be.
