Super Bonk is one of those SNES games that makes you grin the second it starts up—bright colors, goofy sound effects, and a caveman who fights by headbutting everything in sight. You’ll bounce between floating platforms, smash weird little enemies (some of them look like walking tomatoes?), and chomp on meat to power up Bonk’s noggin for even bigger attacks. The levels get wild fast—one minute you’re in a jungle, the next you’re tiny and hopping across giant sushi.
It’s got that classic ‘90s platformer feel where everything’s just a little unpredictable. I kept finding hidden warp zones or accidentally bonking into secret areas, which made replaying levels actually fun instead of tedious. The music’s catchy in that chip-tune way, and the controls are simple but tight—no slippery jumps or weird delays. If you’ve ever played a Bonk game before, you’ll recognize the charm right away. If not, it’s a great place to start.
Honestly, it holds up better than a lot of mascot platformers from that era. Just don’t take it too seriously—half the fun is seeing what ridiculous thing the game throws at you next.
