Hudson Soft released Super Bomberman 5 in 1997 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, near the end of the console's lifespan. It was the fifth main entry in a series known for its multiplayer focus, building on the established formula with more content and options.
You control one of several Bomberman characters, navigating grid-based arenas to place bombs that clear obstacles and defeat enemies. The main goal is to survive while trapping opponents in explosions, using power-ups like extended flame range, extra bombs, and special abilities granted by riding creatures called Rooi.
