Super Bomberman 4 is peak SNES chaos—just you, a grid full of blocks, and way too many bombs. The first few levels ease you in, teaching you the basics like kicking bombs or timing explosions to clear paths, but don’t get too comfy. Soon enough, you’re dodging enemies while trying not to box yourself into a corner with your own explosions.
The real magic happens in multiplayer, though. Four players crammed on a couch, everyone pretending to be strategic before devolving into pure panic when the screen fills with fire. The power-ups are ridiculous in the best way—remote detonation? Sudden speed boosts? Yeah, friendships have ended over less.
It’s got that classic SNES charm, from the chunky pixel explosions to the soundtrack that somehow makes dropping bombs feel cheerful. If you’ve got a buddy (or three) and a tolerance for friendly sabotage, this one’s a blast.
