Bomberman 4 on SNES is that classic bomb-dropping chaos you remember, but with a few extra twists. You start off in these bright, colorful stages—some with weird gimmicks like conveyor belts or ice patches that send you sliding into danger. The first time I played, I totally underestimated how slippery those ice levels could be.
It’s got the usual multiplayer madness (up to four players if you’ve got the multitap), but the single-player mode actually has a story this time—something about rescuing kidnapped Bombermen. The new power-ups are fun, like the remote bombs you can detonate whenever you want. No more waiting around for them to blow up on their own.
If you’ve played the older ones, this one feels a little faster, and the music’s got that upbeat SNES charm. Definitely one of the better Bomberman games on the system.
