Spirou on SNES is one of those hidden platformers that never got the love it deserved back in the day. You start off bouncing around like a hyperactive flea—Spirou’s got this weird floaty jump that takes a minute to get used to, but once it clicks, you’re hopping between neon rooftops and dodging goons in suits like it’s second nature.
The levels are packed with little secrets—false walls, hidden power-ups, the usual SNES-era tricks. I remember getting stuck on this one factory stage for ages until I realized you could wall-jump off the pipes. Graphics still hold up too, all bright cartoony colors that pop even on a CRT.
It’s not as punishing as some of the brutal platformers from that era, but there’s enough challenge to keep you retrying sections. And that soundtrack? Pure early ‘90s cheese in the best way. If you dig stuff like Mickey Mania or Cool Spot, this one’s right up your alley.
