Sonic Advance Game

Man, Sonic Advance on the GBA still holds up. The first thing you notice is how smooth Sonic feels—like they actually got his speed right on this tiny screen. You’ve got loops, corkscrews, and those classic badniks to smash through, but the levels twist in ways that make the GBA hardware shine. Also, playing as Tails or Knuckles changes things up more than you’d think (Tails can fly, obviously, but Knuckles just wrecks walls like it’s nothing).
It’s got that old-school Sonic challenge too—some of those later zones will wreck you if you’re not careful. The music’s pure early 2000s Sega, all bouncy and fast. If you’ve got a GBA or an emulator lying around, this one’s a no-brainer.
