Slap Stick is one of those weird, charming SNES RPGs that never made it out of Japan—which is a shame, because smashing enemies with custom-built robots never gets old. You start by picking a basic bot frame (I went with the speedy one first, but the tanky option has its moments) and then slap on weapons, armor, and weird little upgrades as you go. The battles are real-time, so it’s less about menus and more about dodging fireballs while your laser fists recharge.
And yeah, there’s definitely a mad scientist who looks like Einstein running the show. He’s got that wild hair and everything. The whole thing’s got this goofy, Saturday-morning-cartoon vibe—enemies explode into springs and gears, and half the upgrades feel like they were salvaged from a junkyard. Not the deepest RPG out there, but sometimes you just wanna watch your robot uppercut a tank into next week.
