Oh man, Sengoku Ninja-kun is one of those weird little Game Boy gems that somehow sticks with you. It's this side-scrolling action game where you play as a ninja hopping between rooftops, slashing at samurai and dodging arrows. The controls feel a little stiff at first—like most early Game Boy platformers—but once you get the rhythm down, chaining jumps and attacks actually feels pretty satisfying.
What I love is how chaotic it gets when enemies swarm you from both sides. You’ve got these limited shurikens, so most of the time you’re relying on your sword, which means getting up close and personal. The music’s got that classic chiptune energy too, all bouncy and frantic. Not gonna lie, the later stages get brutal, but in that way where you keep muttering "one more try" at 2 AM.
Definitely a solid pick if you’re into retro action with a side of historical weirdness.
