Puzzle Nintama Rantarou is one of those weird little Game Boy gems that somehow slipped under the radar. You’ve got these three tiny ninja trainees—Rantarou, Kirimaru, and Shinbei—stumbling their way through puzzle stages that start simple but get surprisingly tricky. At first, it’s just sliding blocks and matching tiles, but then you hit a level where timing matters, and suddenly you’re sweating over whether to move left or risk a trap.
The art’s got that classic Nintama charm, all chibi-style and goofy, which makes failing a puzzle slightly less painful. And yeah, if you grew up with the anime, there’s some nostalgia here—but even if you didn’t, the puzzles hold up. Just don’t expect it to go easy on you after the first few stages.
It’s the kind of game you pick up thinking, “Oh, this’ll be cute,” and then an hour later you’re still muttering at the screen because that one block won’t line up right. Definitely worth digging up if you like puzzle games with personality.
