Otto’s Ottifanten is one of those weirdly charming Game Boy platformers that shouldn’t work but totally does. You play as this goofy elephant named Otto, bouncing around levels that feel like a Saturday morning cartoon—bright colors, weird little enemies, and this tiny blue gremlin named Pumuckl causing trouble everywhere.
The controls are simple (jump, stomp, repeat), but the levels throw in just enough puzzles and hidden stuff to keep you poking around. I got stuck for way too long on this one part where you have to bounce off mushrooms in the right order—turns out the solution was way dumber than I thought.
It’s not the hardest game out there, but there’s something about the art style and Otto’s weird little noises that makes it weirdly hard to put down. If you’ve got a soft spot for oddball retro platformers, this one’s a solid time-waster.
