Onmyou Taisenki Zeroshiki (j)(caravan) Game

Onmyou Taisenki Zeroshiki is one of those weird little GBA gems that flew under the radar—it's a tactical RPG with a supernatural twist. You're commanding these spirit warriors (think yokai and onmyoji) on a grid, but the cool part is how each unit has these elemental affinities that actually matter. Fire beats wood, water beats fire—you get the idea. Messing up your positioning hurts way more here than in other SRPGs.
The caravan version has this weirdly addictive risk-reward system where you're constantly weighing whether to push forward or regroup. First time I played, I got wrecked by some fox spirit because I didn't realize its range extended one extra tile at night. Classic GBA jank, but in a good way. The sprites are tiny but surprisingly expressive when they clash.
If you're into obscure tactical games with personality, this one's got claws.
