Oh man, Ninjawarriors on SNES is one of those side-scrolling beat 'em ups that just oozes style. You pick between three cyber-ninjas—each with their own slick moves—and slash through waves of enemies in this dystopian future. The animations are surprisingly smooth for a 16-bit game, especially when you pull off a spinning kick or throw a shuriken.
What really stands out is the soundtrack—synth-heavy and intense, like something straight out of an '80s action flick. The first level throws you right into the chaos, with soldiers rappelling down and mechs stomping toward you. I went with Kunoichi first because her speed felt better for dodging, but the big guy, Kamaitachi, hits like a truck if you prefer brute force.
It’s got that classic arcade feel where you just keep pushing forward, racking up combos, and occasionally getting wrecked by a surprise attack. The European version tweaks a few things, like difficulty, but it’s still a blast. Definitely a hidden gem if you’re into retro action games.
