Lufia: The Ruins of Lore is one of those GBA RPGs that flew under the radar but absolutely deserves more love. You start off as this treasure hunter named Eldin—basically a guy who stumbles into way more trouble than he bargained for—and before long, you're recruiting a ragtag crew to uncover some seriously ancient secrets.
The combat’s classic turn-based stuff, but with a twist: you can swap party members mid-battle, which keeps fights from feeling stale. And the dungeons? They’re packed with puzzles that actually make you think, not just mindless switch-flipping. I remember getting stuck in one for way too long before realizing I had to push blocks in a specific order.
Visually, it’s got that warm, pixelated charm of early 2000s RPGs, and the music’s solid—nothing groundbreaking, but it fits the adventure perfectly. If you’re into old-school JRPGs with a bit of dungeon-crawling spice, this one’s a hidden gem worth digging up.
