Ever played an SNES RPG where you're just some kid who stumbles into a world where magic and robots exist side by side? That's Kuusou Kagaku Sekai Gulliver Boy—a weird, colorful trip where you play as Ran, a boy who gets sucked into this bizarre dimension full of floating islands, talking machines, and battles that feel like a mix of turn-based strategy and rock-paper-scissors.

The first thing you'll notice is how bright and playful everything looks—like someone took a Saturday morning cartoon and turned it into a 16-bit adventure. The battles are the real hook though. Instead of just mashing attack, you pick from these "science" or "magic" cards, and depending on what the enemy throws at you, it either works brilliantly or backfires horribly. Took me a few fights to stop picking randomly.

It’s got that classic SNES charm—quirky NPCs, towns that feel alive, and a story that gets surprisingly deep once you get past the goofy surface. Not gonna lie, the translation’s a little rough if you’re playing the fan patch, but it adds to the game’s oddball personality. If you dig offbeat JRPGs with a splash of steampunk and a ton of heart, this one’s worth digging up.
