King of Fighters '95 on Game Boy is a surprisingly solid port of the arcade fighter, though obviously scaled down. You still get that classic SNK feel—tight controls, flashy special moves, and the new team edit feature that lets you mix and match fighters. Picking your trio is half the fun; I kept swapping between Terry, Iori, and Ryo to see who worked best together.
The sprites are tiny but recognizable, and the music does its best to capture the arcade energy. It’s not perfect—some animations are choppy, and the AI can be brutal—but if you’re craving KOF on the go, this is as good as it got back then. Just don’t expect the full roster or silky smooth framerates.
