Janshirou (japan) Game

Janshirou on the Game Boy is one of those weird little Japan-only titles that makes you go, "Wait, what is this?" At first glance, it looks like a basic puzzle game—you're moving blocks around a grid, trying to clear lines. But then the samurai theme kicks in, and suddenly you're matching tiles with swordsmen and ninjas instead of colored squares.
The controls are simple (d-pad and two buttons), but the strategy gets surprisingly deep after a few rounds. Some tiles flip when you move them, others vanish if you line them up just right. I kept messing up early on because I'd forget which direction certain pieces would rotate. Once it clicks though, it's weirdly satisfying—like a mix of solitaire and shogi, but faster.
Definitely a niche pick, but if you're into obscure retro puzzlers, this one's got charm. The music's just repetitive enough to get stuck in your head, too.
