Hikaru No Go 2 for the GBA is basically like carrying a tiny Go dojo in your pocket. You start off with the basics—placing stones, learning the rules—but before long, you're knee-deep in matches against AI opponents that actually make you sweat. The early opponents aren’t too bad, but around the mid-game, they start pulling sneaky moves that’ll have you muttering at your screen.
What’s cool is how it weaves in bits of the manga’s story between matches, so even if you’re just here for the Go, there’s a little extra flavor. The AI isn’t just a pushover, either—some of these bots feel like they’ve got a personal grudge against you. And yeah, the learning curve’s there, but losing a match because you missed a ladder formation just makes the next win sweeter.
If you’ve ever wanted to get into Go without the pressure of real-life opponents glaring at you, this is the way to do it. Just don’t blame me when you lose track of time trying to beat that one smug AI character.
