Gon on SNES is one of those weird little platformers that sticks with you—mostly because you play as a tiny, grumpy dinosaur who can’t even jump. Yeah, that’s the gimmick. Instead, you stomp enemies, climb vines, and knock stuff over with this hilarious tail whip that sends everything flying. The art’s got that chunky, colorful 16-bit charm, and some of the levels have these sneaky puzzles where you’ve gotta bounce rocks or trick enemies into breaking barriers for you.
It’s not super hard, but there are moments where you’ll stop and stare at the screen like, "How the heck am I supposed to get up there?" (Pro tip: tail-whipping a turtle shell at just the right angle usually does the trick.) If you’ve read the manga, you’ll spot some fun references, but even if you haven’t, it’s just a solid, quirky platformer with a lot of personality. That little dinosaur’s death glare when he gets hit? Perfect.
Definitely one of the more unique SNES games hiding in the back catalog.
